Your little one needs some time to slow their mind and body down before bed- a wind down time can be key to getting a good nights sleep! Knowing when to expect bedtime means less procrastination, like asking for a snack or potty & searching the bedroom for monsters (again). Making for more restful evenings for everyone, so you can snuggle and wind down together and still have time for yourself!
Wind Down's are easy with Hatch! You can easily specify the start time of your Wind Down, the brightness of the color series, and the volume of the sound you want to hear at the scheduled time(s). Once it’s time to get tucked in, tap the Touch Ring to start your Sleep favorite (with your customized sound and color combination).
The Wind Down duration can last up to an hour. If you have a Sleep favorite scheduled to start within that hour, or if the touch ring is tapped to start your Sleep favorite, Wind Down is non-interruptive, which means if you have a Wind Down scheduled while your Scheduled Sleep step is playing, it will not go off.
Are you ready to set up a Wind Down? Here's how:
Schedule a Wind Down signal on your Rest+ 2nd gen to alert your child that it’s bedtime! Set it up with a fun colorful light series and gentle music. Help your child learn that this color and sound combination means it’s time to start getting ready for bed !
To create a Wind Down, follow these steps below:
1. Open up your app and select device
2. Click on the "+" at the top right on your page
3. Select "Add a Bedtime Routine"
4. Click on "Add Wind down" and set the sound, color, duration and press save up top.
💡 Tip: Choose whatever color + sound combo your little one likes best
If you have a Scheduled Sleep step, you will want to keep in mind that it is interruptive, which means that if anything is already playing on your device, your Sleep favorite will start automatically. This includes any Wind Down routine you have playing.
Also, if you start playing a sound or color from the app, it will override anything being played on the Hatch (you should receive a notification when changing via the app to override whatever may be playing on your Rest+ 2nd gen).
