If you have a Rest 2nd gen, Rest+ 2nd gen, Restore, or Restore 2, you'll be all set! No need to make any adjustments.
Keeping overnight sleep routines on track during Fall Back and Spring Forward for your classic Rest and Rest+ devices.
We'd never want your schedule to run awry, especially during a time change! Here are some tips to ensure your Rest and Rest+ will run seamlessly the morning after a time change!
- In the Fall, when time is moving backward by 1 hour, you want to set your overnight routine to end one hour later than the time you want your kiddo to wake up.
- In the Spring, your program will run the number of hours the duration is set for, no matter what the time is. If you need your program to shut off by a certain time, you can shorten the duration of your Program by 1 hour for the night of the time change and revert it back the following day. Making this adjustment means your program will run for its usual number of hours, and on the day you “Spring ahead”- it would end an hour later " on the clock" than typical. If it doesn’t matter when your program turns off, we’d recommend keeping your program as is.
- Use your Time to Rise routine as the indicator for any overnight programs to stop and the Time to Rise to begin (When routines overlap, the latest routine will override the previous one). On Saturday, you will adjust your Time-to-Rise to start 1 hour later so it starts at the correct time on Sunday. On Sunday, you can adjust the time back so that it starts at the correct time on Monday.
Example: I want my child to stay in bed until 7 AM. So on Saturday night, I change my settings to:
-
- I set my Bedtime Routine from 8:00 PM-8:00 AM
- I set my Time to Rise Routine to start at 8:00 AM
With this adjustment, at 7:00 AM (in real-time), the Time to Rise routine will begin and turn off the Bedtime routine.
