At Hatch, safety is our top priority and we've designed your Hatch to be used in a nursery, a child's room, or during travel, etc. The decibel level is very dependent on the environment — factors like room size, placement, and surfaces play a big role in the equation.
Because of this, giving a precise decibel number is difficult. For example, carpeting in a nursery can reduce the decibel level by 50-70%. Distance from your baby can reduce decibel levels as well. At 5-10 feet away from a sleeping baby, in an average-sized nursery with carpeting, the absolute maximum volume is below 50 decibels.
If you have any concerns about your devices decibel level, we'd recommending locating a decibel meter app to measure the decibels in your child's room and make sure to ask your pediatrician any specific questions!
