We are so excited that you have purchased Hatch Baby! We want you to make the most of your Hatch! Here’s some information and tips to help make sure that happens!
What's included in Hatch Baby?
Hatch Baby comes with 6 months of full access to guided sleep support and premium content, including 1:1 Sleep Consultant Chat, Baby Sleep Guides in app, and our full library of stories and songs crafted to help your baby get their best sleep from night one. After 6 months, the sleep support and content subscription is optional and will not auto-renew. After 6 months, you can renew for $49.99 annually or $4.99 per month.
What happens after 6 months if I don’t renew the premium subscription?
If you choose not to renew the subscription after 6 months, you will still have access to basic lights and sounds on Hatch Baby, and cues like Time-for-Rise and Time-for-Bed.
If you choose to renew, you’ll keep using the full suite of Hatch Baby features like 1:1 Sleep Consultant Chat, Sleep Guides, premium stories and songs, dynamic lights, predictive schedules, Tuck-ins from a friend or family member, and the ability to play from your phone.
What’s the difference between White Noise and Pink Noise for my baby?
White noise and pink noise both help babies sleep, but they’re a little different. White noise is like steady static (think fan or radio). It’s great for blocking out household sounds and helping babies fall asleep. Pink noise is softer and more balanced (like rainfall). It has been linked to higher-quality deep sleep and many families find it feels gentler for little ears and more soothing for longer stretches of sleep. Both are safe to use, so it’s really about what feels best for your baby. If you’re not sure, try pink noise at night and see if you notice a difference in how deeply your baby rests.
Where should I place Hatch Baby in the room?
For safety, place your Hatch Baby at least 3 feet from baby’s sleep space, ideally near the door to help block outside noise. Make sure cords are tucked away and out of reach and do not perch on the crib.
Any tips for volume and brightness?
We recommend starting sound at 30% and light at 35%, but every room is different. If your room is large or there’s a lot of background noise, you can set your sound louder. And if baby needs a little extra comfort, go for a brighter light. A quick check: if you can talk at arm’s length without raising your voice, the volume’s good to go. Always check with your pediatrician to see what’s right for your baby.
What is the difference between Hatch Baby and Hatch Rest?
Hatch Baby is redesigned from head to toe for baby sleep support from night one. It includes 6 months of access to baby sleep support features like 1:1 Sleep Consultant Chat and Baby Sleep Guides in app that are not available with Hatch Rest. Hatch Baby also comes equipped with new hardware like a boop-able Big Button that controls volume and starts your baby’s favorite sounds, a soft nightlight for late night feedings and diaper changes, and improved audio compared to Hatch Rest.
Hatch Baby also comes with a full library of our Hatch subscription including stories, songs, sounds, and lights for 6 months included with purchase. Hatch Rest comes with a library of basic sleep sounds and lights, and you can access our full sleep library with the Hatch subscription for $49.99 annually or $4.99/month.
What kind of support do your Sleep Consultants provide?
Our Sleep Consultants are trained in behavioral sleep strategies and offer evidence-based guidance tailored to your child’s sleep needs. However, they cannot provide medical advice, make diagnoses, or offer emergency care. For any significant decisions regarding your child’s health, we recommend consulting with your pediatrician first.
Can I add my partner or another caretaker?
Absolutely! You can easily add another person in the Hatch app settings. Once added all they have to do is download the app, and they’ll have access to the device.
