Your Hatch has a setting that enables it to shut off automatically at night and turn on during the day- so you can sleep well without the brightness of the clock waking you!

Nighttime Brightness:
What is nighttime brightness and how does it work?
Restore 2 uses and ambient light sensor in order to determine if it's daytime or night time. Your nighttime brightness setting will be displayed on your Restore 2 when the room your Restore 2 when it is dark in the room. If there is any light shinning in the room that your Restore 2 can sense, the device will consider that "daytime" and will default to the brightness you have set during the daytime instead of nighttime.
If your Restore 2 isn't observing the nighttime brightness, try these troubleshooting steps:
Connect to your Hatch in the Hatch Sleep app
- Tap on the "gear" icon in the upper right corner of the app
- Select your Hatch from the list
- Tap on the "Clock Display" option, select the "Always Off" option
- Tap the "Back" option
- Confirm that your clock turns off at this point
- Select the "Clock Display" option one more time
- Tap on the "Clock Display" option and select the "Off At Night" option
- Make sure the "Nighttime Brightness" is turned all the way down
- Unplug your Hatch, count to ten and plug it back in
After following these steps, you will want to ensure the room your Hatch is in is dark, observe the clock display when it is dark; the clock should be off in the dark. Next, turn the lights on and make sure there are no shadows around your Hatch that may "cover" the light sensor- give the device a moment to adjust, and you should see the clock display turn on.
If these steps work as expected, adjusting your nighttime brightness to the brightness level you prefer and run the test again. Keep in mind that if you set the brightness level to less than 5% the clock display may be difficult to see even in the dark.
Daytime Brightness:
What is daytime brightness and how does it work?
