There is an interactive metal ring on the top of Rest/Rest+. This "touch ring" is especially helpful if you want to quickly change the sound or color of Rest/Rest+, or if you want to turn it off without having to open up your app. Here's how: 

• Tap the touch ring with your finger to cycle through six touch ring favorites, which are pre-programmed light and sound combinations. You can customize your touch ring favorites in the app. 
• To turn Rest/Rest+ off, simply tap and hold your finger on the touch ring until Rest/Rest+ turns off. You'll need to hold your finger for approximately three seconds before Rest/Rest+ turns off. 

**If you have a program running that uses Toddler Lock, you will not be able to use the touch ring.

To turn off Toddler Lock:

• With Rest, you can unplug and plug it back in (unplugging the Rest will stop the program from running). 
• For Rest+ you will need to go into the app and turn Toddler Lock off in the program that's running. 

Having trouble pairing your app to your Rest/Rest+ using the touch ring?

You may need to keep your finger on the touch ring for a bit longer than you think!

If you're still not able to connect, the Rest/Rest+ may have a program running that uses the Toddler Lock. When the Toddler Lock is on, the touch ring will not work -- you can have the primary user go into the app to turn the Toddler Lock off in the current program, or you can unplug the Rest and plug it back in, which will stop the program from running (on Rest ONLY - Rest+ continues to run after being unplugged).
