What is Sleep Tracking?
Sleep tracking is a feature in your Hatch Sleep app that can help you track your baby's sleep. By tracking your baby's sleep over time it will make it easier to recognize what schedule works best for your child, notice changes in their sleep habits, and (if needed) gather helpful information for your pediatrician.
How to set up Sleep Tracking:
You have two options for tracking your baby's sleep; using the Hatch Sleep app: Auto-detect or manually logging. Here's how to get started with each of those methods; you can select the one that's best for you!
Auto-detect:
Auto-detect logging will log your child’s sleep based on when your Hatch Baby device is turned on and off. If you enable the feature, the app will use your device’s activity to generate sleep logs automatically.
Step 1: Connect to your Hatch Baby and tap on the arrow next to the statement: "Log sleep and we'll keep your baby's sleeping on track"
Step 2: Toggle the "Auto Sleep Detect" option to the "on" position.
A few things to note:
- Very short sleep sessions (under 10 minutes) are filtered out automatically.
- You can edit, delete, or add entries anytime, and your edits won’t be overwritten
- Because it’s based on device usage (not a sensor), the logs are a starting point rather than a guaranteed accurate record. If something looks off, you can always adjust it manually.
Manual Sleep Entry:
Prefer to log your baby's sleep manually? Here's how!
