Want to know a little more about the battery in your Rest+ 2nd gen? Look no further! In this article, we cover the common questions about the battery for the Rest+ 2nd gen.
How Long Does the Battery Last?
As with any battery, the lifespan can vary based on a variety of factors. The factors involved here primarily involve: if Rest+ 2nd gen is actively playing content, the volume level of the sound if the light is being used, what brightness the light is being used at, as well as a few other factors. That being said, the battery should last up to 12 hours (*battery life based on low brightness and volume).
Please note, that even when the light and sounds are off, the Rest+ 2nd gen may still be consuming power. This can be due to the clock display, which keeps track of time to ensure your schedule stays on track and/or keeping your favorites saved. Each of these tasks requires energy, so they can drain the device's battery even when content is not playing. For the best battery performance, we recommend charging your Rest+ regularly to ensure the battery is ready for any power outages or naps around the house.
How can I check the Battery Level?
You can check the battery level at any time within the Hatch Sleep! We have provided some steps below on how to check:
- Unplug your Rest+ 2nd gen and plug it back in (Or take it off/on the charging base)
- Open the Hatch Sleep App
- Tap the “Settings Gear” in the top right corner
- Select your Rest+ 2nd gen
- Under the “Device Info” section your battery life will be displayed as a percentage
Please note: Currently, the app only updates and shows the battery status when it has reached certain levels of being charged. It will accurately show the device's battery level when the battery level is below 5% or when the battery level is over 95%.
How do I know if the Rest+ 2nd gen is charging?
This is a great question! When you place your device on the charging base, "base" will briefly show on the clock display. This lets you know that the device has registered that it's on the base and is charging. Similarly, when you take your device off of the charging base, "batt" will briefly show on the clock display. This indicates that the device has been taken off of the base and is now running on battery. For more information, check out this video from Kelsey on our customer support team!
