Does your Rest+ 2nd Gen turn off after you take it off the charging base? We can help with that!
First, you'll want to check to make sure the Rest+ 2nd Gen's internal battery is adequately charged. When using the charging base, the power cord needs to be plugged into the base, and the base needs to be oriented with the indented side facing up. You can also charge the Rest+ 2nd Gen by plugging it directly into the power cord. The clock display will flash "BASE" or "PLUG" depending on which method is used.
You can check the battery level by tapping the settings/gear icon in the top right corner of the app, selecting your device from the list, and scrolling down to "battery"
.
If your battery is very low or at 0%, please allow it to charge for a few hours and perform the following steps to reset the Rest 2nd Gen:
1. Ensure Rest+ 2nd Gen is plugged in directly to the socket on the device or has been charged for at least 5 hours. Do not use the charging base as part of the Recovery Mode process.
2. Press and hold *BOTH* the power and connect buttons for 10 seconds - the connect button is the small circular button with two arrows on it, located next to the power cord port.
3. Release the power button but keep pressing the connect button for an additional 10 seconds.
4. Release the connect button and connect to your Rest+ 2nd gen.
Your device still not holding a charge?
It will help to know if the base isn't charging your device or if the power cord might need replaced. Instead of using your base to charge your Rest+ 2nd gen, plug your device directly into your power cord. Allow your device to charge for about four hours and try to unplug it again. We'd also recommend attempting a different outlet in your home to see if that helps!
