Curious little hands wanting to tap the touch ring/buttons on your Rest 2nd Gen? Have peace of mind that their routine will stay the same and not be disrupted by turning on a Child Lock! This will disable the use of your touch ring and the volume/brightness buttons on the device itself. By design, the nightlight button on the back is not affected by the Child Lock. This is so you can easily turn it on in case your little one needs you at night!
How to Enable Toddler Lock:
Connect to your Rest 2nd gen using the Hatch Sleep App.
- Tap the Settings icon in the upper right-hand corner of your main screen
- Toggle the "Child Lock" option "on" (you will see a lighter blue color when on)
Once the setting is toggled on, you can close out the Quick Settings page.
How to customize your toddler lock
You can create a custom schedule for your child lock to turn on and off! Here's how:
Instead of closing out the Quick Settings page, you will need to tap on the "Go to all settings" button
- Next, select the name of the Hatch you are already connected to from the list of devices on the page
Tap on the "Toddler Lock" option
Tap on the "Set Custom Schedule" option to customize the time your "Child Lock" is turned on
**Pro Tip! You can always tell if your Child Lock is enabled in the app at a glance! Just look for the "lock" icon in the upper right corner of the app!
There is also a small lock icon next to a light on the bottom of your Rest 2nd gen or Rest+ 2nd gen. This light indicates if the Child Lock is enabled or off. If there is no light, the Child Lock is off. If the light is Red, the Child Lock is enabled.
