How does it work?
When the app detects that your Rest 2nd gen is offline, the app will automatically move to establishing a Bluetooth connection. When your Rest 2nd gen loses connection, it won't interrupt anything that you are currently playing. Your Hatch will restore the connection on it's own when your Wi-Fi is back up and running!
What can I do when using offline mode?
- Alarms or other scheduled routines should play as scheduled (there may be a few minute delay)
- Please note: Hatch+ content may experience trouble with playback in BLE mode as this content requires a Wi-Fi connection for use
- Touch ring operations - start, stop, or advance to the next routine
- Volume/brightness changes from the Hatch or the app
- Start a routine from the app
- Change volume, sound, brightness, or color for the currently playing routine
- Access all Sleep sounds and basic color options
What can't I do when using the offline mode?
- Update firmware
- Set a timer
- Editing/creating a new routine
- Access Hatch+ content in the library
- Use the Toddler Lock
- Adjust the "Clock Display" settings
How do I get my device connected to my Wi-Fi again?
If your Hatch doesn't automatically connect, to get your Hatch back online, you can update your Wi-Fi through the app.
- Please navigate back to the Device list page in your app and tap on the "gear" icon in the upper right corner of the app
- Select your offline Rest 2nd gen, and tap on the "Update Wi-Fi" option
- Follow the prompts to get connected to your Wi-Fi again!
*** Please note you will need to be connected to Wi-Fi when initially setting up your Rest 2nd gen, and we do recommend having a Wi-Fi connection in most cases. The offline mode is a great backup, just in case, though!
