When setting up a Hatch for the first time, the Hatch will be registered to the Hatch Sleep account used when setting it up! Once registered, the device will be tied to that account unless the device is deregistered.
Registered to someone you want to share the device with?
If your device has been registered by another user in your household, and you want to get connected with your account too; you can be invited as an authorized user by the original registered owner of the device! Just have the original account holder add you using these steps:
- Connect to your device via the Hatch Sleep app
- Tap the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen after making a connection to the Hatch you want to share
- Click on "Go to all settings"
- Tap the name of the device you'd like to share access
- Scroll to the "Access" section and tap on "Add a Person."
- Enter their email address and hit "invite," and you're all set!
Registered to another user you don't want to share with?
If your Hatch was owned by someone else previously and you received it as "new to you"- you can reset the device right from the app! When you try to connect, you will be taken to a screen letting you know that the device is currently linked to another account. When you see that screen, just tap on the "Continue" button to de-register the device for your use.
