Is your little one ready for a set schedule? Do you have a certain time you want your little one to wake? The “Schedule” option has you covered!
Types of schedules:
We have three different types of schedules that you can use to help your little one's sleep routine.
- Time-to-Rise: This schedule can operate similar to an alarm and/or let your child know when it's ok to get out of bed for the day. Use this option for those "wake" scheduled times.
- Time-for-bed: This schedule option will help your little one wind down for bed and stay asleep through the night. Use this option when setting up a schedule for those sleep moments.
- Schedule sound or light: This schedule is a flexible schedule that you can use at any time
Setting up your schedule:
Select the options you would like for your schedule- you will be able to choose from different sound and light combinations, set the duration (how long it will play), and add a step name. You can also add multiple steps to the schedule, by tapping on the "Create playlist" button at the bottom of the screen.
After the light and sound options are selected, you can preview the schedule on your Hatch Baby, using the "Preview" option
Finally, tap on the "Save schedule" or "Save Playlist" button at the bottom of the app
Deleting and/or turning off your schedule:
After setting up your schedule, if you find that you do not want to use that schedule for a few days as planned or you are ready to remove the schedule completely- we can help you get that done!
- Disable: you will use the disable function for schedules you want to save, but not currently use
- Delete: you will want to use this option to permanently remove a schedule you no longer need

Schedule not running as it should?
Routine is important when you are trying to help your little one (and your whole family) get sleep! If your schedule is not working as expected, we can help troubleshoot!
Schedule not starting when it should?
When your scheduled settings don't start, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:
- Make sure your device usually has a stable Wi-Fi connection. While Hatch Baby can work offline for short periods, a consistent connection helps Schedules run reliably.
- Check that the start time for your Schedule is in the future (Schedules won’t trigger retroactively if the time has already passed).
- Ensure your device is connected to the correct time zone in the device Settings.
- If needed, try restarting your device by unplugging it for about five minutes, then plugging it back in. Make sure to accept any Firmware updates requested and give it time to download to the device.
If your scheduled settings are still not starting as planned, you can try a few more steps:
- Set up a "Test" schedule that is set to begin a few minutes from the current time- this will help you determine if a schedule will run successfully on your device.
- If you can get the test schedule to run successfully, delete your schedule that is not running and set up the schedule one more time.
- If the schedule still isn't running when it should, reach out to us so we can help!
Is your schedule turning off before it should?
Here's a few tips to help you troubleshoot your Hatch Baby when it shuts off before your schedule should end:
- Make sure that the device either has the child lock turned on, or is outside of your little one's reach (keep in mind that if unplugged, the device will shut off- make sure to keep the plug out of reach even if the child lock is turned on).
- Make sure your device usually has a stable Wi-Fi connection. While Hatch Baby can work offline for short periods, a consistent connection helps Schedules run reliably.
- Check the duration for your schedule to ensure it will run as long as you need it to.
- There are some options in our library that have a set duration - in these cases, the device will automatically stop playing once the sound ends. Some of the stories and music in the Hatch+ section of the Library are designed this way. In contrast, all sounds from the Sleep section will continue playing until you schedule them to stop or turn off the device manually.
- If you'd like to use a Hatch+ sound (like a story or music track) but want something to continue playing afterward, we recommend creating a Schedule with two steps. When setting up that sound, select “Add a Step” and follow it with a continuous sound from the Sleep section. That way, your routine starts with something special and ends with something steady - ideal for a full night of sleep.
- Do you have an Alexa device? If so, double-check your Alexa app to see if you have any routines set up accidentally for your Hatch Baby. You will also want to check to see if your Hatch is a part of any groups. You can check this by launching the Amazon Alexa app, tapping "More" in the bottom right-hand corner, and then select "routine" from there.
- If needed, try restarting your device by unplugging it for about five minutes, then plugging it back in. Make sure to accept any Firmware updates requested and give it time to download to the device.
If your scheduled settings are still not ending when planned, you can try a few more steps:
- Set up a "Test" schedule that is set to begin a few minutes from the current time and runs for a few hours, leave the device and check on it when you have set it to turn off- this will help you determine if a schedule will run the correct duration on your device.
- If you can get the test schedule to run successfully, delete your schedule that is not keeping the correct duration and set up the schedule one more time.
- If the schedule still isn't running when it should, reach out to us so we can help!
