There are a few things that can cause a single tap of the touch ring to cycle through all of your favorites.
The first thing to try is a quick reset of your Rest 2nd Gen. You can do this by following these steps:
1. Unplug your Rest 2nd gen for at least 5 minutes
2. Restart your phone
3. Press and HOLD the button with the two arrows (the Bluetooth connection button)
4. Securely plug the Rest 2nd gen back into a different outlet and continue to hold the button with the two arrows on the bottom of your Rest 2nd gen for 10 seconds
5. Please wait about 5 minutes and connect to your Rest 2nd Gen. Make sure to accept any updates if prompted.
Still having trouble? This can sometimes be indicative of a weak Wifi signal - touch ring inputs may be delayed as a result and quickly respond to these inputs one they "catch up". To test this out, please try moving your Rest 2nd Gen close to your router and see if you notice any improvement.
Not seeing any improvement? There may be some environmental factors influencing this behavior:
1. Is your Rest 2nd Gen near any other electronics? If so, this can cause some interference - please try moving the device away from those other electronic devices to see if that helps.
2. Is your Rest 2nd Gen plugged in directly to an outlet, or are you using a power strip/extension cord? If you are using a power strip/extension cord - please try to plug the device directly into the wall outlet instead to see if that helps.
3. Try moving your Rest 2nd Gen to a different outlet in your home to see if the touch ring issues continue. It may work best to test the device on a different floor (if possible) or a GFCI outlet.
4. Is your Rest 2nd Gen sitting on a hard-topped surface or a soft surface? Please make sure it's on a flat hard-topped surface
5. Is your Rest 2nd Gen near a humidifier? Sometimes, if there is extra humidity/moisture in the room, this can cause some issues with the touch ring. If you have a humidifier running near your Rest 2nd Gen, please move it away from the device.
