Are you finding that your routine is playing the same content night after night? We will help you understand why this might be happening.
- As a first step, we'd like you to unplug your Hatch, count to 15 and plug it back in. Once it's plugged back in, connect to your Hatch on your app and accept any firmware updates if prompted.
Still not rotating? Here's a little more information that might help!
How Rotation Works
Our collections are designed to provide a different track for you to enjoy and fall asleep to. When you set a collection to your routine, the content will rotate through the list of tracks in order they are listed within the collection.
Here's a few things to keep in mind to make sure your tracks are rotating:
- Rotation Trigger: The track will only rotate to the next piece when your device has been "off" or has had some "downtime." This allows the device to reset and load the next piece of content for the following day.
- 5-Minute Play Rule: For a track to be considered "played" and for the rotation to move to the next item, it must play for at least 5 minutes (or the duration of the track- if the track is shorter than 5 minutes long). If you stop the content before it's played for 5 minutes or more, the rotation will not advance, and the same content will play the next night.
- Routine Edits: If you edit your routine, the rotation will be reset to the first track. The system loses its memory of where you were in the track's rotation, and it will start over from the beginning of the list. This is a common reason for the same episode to play repeatedly.
- Removing and Adding Collections: If you remove a collection from your routine and later add it back, the rotation will pick up right where it left off. It will not reset to the beginning unless you edit the routine itself.
Is your Hatch still not rotating?
Try these troubleshooting steps to resolve any rotating issues you might be experiencing with your Hatch:
- Unplug Hatch Sleep Clock.
- Press and hold the connect button with the two arrows on the bottom of your Clock.
- Plug your Clock back in while still holding the connect button.
- Release the connect button after 10 seconds (the digital clock should show "blocks").
- Wait for about 2-5 minutes (the digital clock should show a dot moving in a circle).
- Verify the green LED is illuminated next to the connect button on the bottom of the Hatch Sleep Clock. If it isn't, hold the connect button down until the green LED is illuminated.
- Reconnect to your Hatch Sleep Clock again.
