Rest+ 2nd gen not turning on? Let's get you up and running again!
First, go ahead and move your Rest+ 2nd gen to another outlet in your home. It may help to even try a different room. You can make sure the outlet is operating as it should by making sure another lamp or device operates if plugged into that outlet, before trying your Rest+ 2nd gen in it.
- Ensure Rest+ 2nd Gen is plugged in directly to the socket on the device or has been charged for at least 5 hours. Do not use the charging base as part of the this process.
- Press and hold *BOTH* the power and connect buttons for 10 seconds - the connect button is the small circular button with two arrows on it, located next to the power cord port.
- Release the power button but keep pressing the connect button for an additional 10 seconds.
- Release the connect button and connect to your Rest+ 2nd gen.
If these steps don't work and you happen to have another Rest, Rest+, Rest Mini, Rest 2nd gen, or Rest+ 2nd gen device, please try swapping cords to see if the Hatch will then turn on. If you have found that your Rest+ 2nd gen is powering on with being plugged into the power cord directly, it's possible the base isn't working as expected. You can troubleshoot the function of your base with the following steps:
- Plug your power cord into the charging base and then plug the charging base into the wall. Next, place your Rest+ 2nd gen on the charging base, ensuring that the side of the base with text is face down.
- Make sure your clock display is turned on and the brightness is up (if you need to adjust the settings, tap the gear icon in the top right corner of your app, tap the name of your Rest+ 2nd Gen, then tap "Clock Display”)
- Lift your device fully off of the base, then wait a few moments until the word "batt" appears on the clock display, showing it’s now powered via the battery (if the word doesn't appear, continue to the next step)
- Place your device back onto your charging base, then wait a few moments until the word "base" appears on the clock display, showing it’s now charging via the base.
