What is a combined network?
Most WiFi network set ups have two setting options for the signal that is broadcasted (2.4GHz and 5.0GHz). Your network can either be exclusively a 2.4GHz network, exclusively a 5.0GHz network, or a network that is combined. Your Hatch can connect to a 2.4GHz network or a combined network.
What if I have a combined network and can't connect?
At times, you may have some trouble connecting to a combined network, but don't worry we can get this resolved!
As a first step, we would recommend going into your network settings and trying to temporarily disable just the 5.0GHz signal (just while you are trying to connect). After the 5.0GHz signal is disabled, you will want to attempt to connect to the network that now, is only using the 2.4GHz signal. Once your Hatch is connected, you can navigate to your network settings once more and enable the 5.0GHz signal. Your Hatch will remain connected! If you are not sure how to do this, we'd recommend reaching out to your internet service provider for assistance.
Another option is to create a second network. With most routers, you can set up a separate 2.4 GHz network for your Hatch. Once that network is set up, you can attempt to connect to your Hatch, making sure your phone is also using that new network for its connection. If you are unsure how to do this, we'd recommend contacting your Internet Service provider to guide you in creating the separate 2.4GHz network. When creating your network, make sure to keep in mind the network requirements for your Hatch- you can read more about those here.
