Many hotels have a type of WiFi network that requires "authentication" of the device attempting to connect, also known as a Captive Portal Network. This means that it requires a web page to load and will ask for additional verification on the device before it allows for a connection.
Since our Hatch devices are not able to accept the terms of service or enter any additional required information through the web page, they will not be allowed to connect to the Captive Portal Network.
We can recommend a few options!
- If traveling, pack your Rest Go instead of another Hatch device- Rest Go can play your sleep sounds so you can reset well while you are away!
- If you really need your Hatch while away (and we don't blame you!)... some users have let us know that a travel router helped to get them connected while away! If you are looking for a travel router, you will want to locate one that works with hotel wifi and broadcasts a 2.4Ghz network.
